Re: Stickies for fuel consumption

My 08 1.4 Dynamique averages around 34 mpg which isn't very good, i used to average around 30 mpg in my Renaultsport clio 182 and i used to drive that harder. :?

What oil for 08 1.4

Hi all, just wondering what oil other owners would recommend for my 08 1.4, as 18000 miles seems a bit long between changes, i was thinking Mobil 1 0W40 and a genuine Renault filter every 9000 miles.

Re: Some advice for a couple of issues...

anth_dci, The manual specifically forbids using Xw30 oils. So, it is good to know that this engine can actually tolerate thinner oils. does it? I didnt see that anywhere in my manual. I wonder why? I am right in thinking that the first number is the consistency when warm and the 2nd is when cold? m...

Re: high pitch sound when braking in slow speed....

Hi, typical renault response (it's because the roads are dirty) do they think we're stupid, anyway as with all sqeaky brakes remove pads, clean all the dirt/dust from pads and calipers, re-assemble using copper grease on the back of the pads, this should do the trick at least for a while, and when t...

Re:

I also have this on my 1.4. I bought the car with 6000miles on the clock and it has always `whirred` when lifting off the accelerator or changing gear at higher revs. I am positive this noise is coming from the engine, as it does it when in neutral also. It could possibly be something around the en...

Picked the car up on friday as arranged and the car is great, i was a little concerned that the performance would be a little lacking but its quite nippy and once past about 4000rpm is actually quite quick (for a 1.4). :D
