Your steering controls don't work cos you have a Tuner List radio as standard, these Sony units only work when you have an Update List unit as standard because the wiring is different in the plug that comes from the steering controls.

No you don't have something special, you just have an older unit. The Tuner List ones were the earlier units, so basically any head unit would work with yours with an adapter from Connects2 or Incartec. The Sony unit you have bought will only work with the steering and display on an Update List unit.

It should say on the front of the radio, under the round button on the right hand side.

If you take the glovebox out, it's only 4 screws, it's much easier to get your hand in the back to guide the wires and the head unit out of the slot.

You press and hold the Select button, then keep pressing it to scroll through the menu's. I turned mine off straight away too lol.

Personally, I'd bin them and get the proper ones if you really need them.

They don't look like headlight washers to me, they just look like the ones that you put on your bonnet.
