Re: Megane CC meet 2nd try
Derbyshire for me so most places are acceptable. Just a thought but would it be easier to tag onto an existing event? There are plenty of car shows big and small, where we could meet up or attend as a group. I was at Skipton car show last week and the whole main Street was closed to traffic with a l...

Re: Brake Upgrade
As you might imagine with items that are "out of sight and often out of mind" these parts are built to a price. Upgraded items are better quality and to better tolerances. Giving more power and a better feel at the pedal. A popular trick is to use something from a bigger model as the discs...
Re: Fan Belt
I hope you mean the alternator belt? As the fan is electric...unless that is your problem sorted there?? Not specific to our car but I have come across other cases like this due to the alternator out of alignment, usually due to a non standard replacement, or indeed other work being done in the past...

Re: Brake Upgrade
You could really only change to quality items like Brembo, with matching fast road pads. Obviously drilled discs look good, but the only real upgrade is gained by changing the callipers.

I suspect that as the body is done by Kharmen, this might be a specific part?

Re: Tender - > Megane CC meet 2015
I'm sorry but confirmation that we were going ahead, came to late in the day and I have now committed to something else. I'm quite disappointed as I was looking forward to seeing a group of CC's on Madeira Drive. But all the cheap hotels are now booked and my partner has said it's to late for her, t...

Re: Drivers door window not working correctly
Thats s bit of a strange one, you could try and source a replacement from a breakers, failing that being cict effective, see if the local auto-electrician is able to help?

Re: loud buzzing(?) noise
Wow this could be almost anything, from a stone stuck in the tyre, a faulty fan switch to something loose. Start with the basics, is it speed related rather than engine? well get a passenger to stick their head out of the window and see what they can hear. From your description it may well be someth...

Re: 3000 rpm at 70 mph
Quick one for you experts out there. My 2006 Mk.2 (1.6 VVT) is hitting 3000 rpm at 70mph and the engine sounds like it wants a gear change, yet it's already in fifth. Does this sound normal behaviour to you similar-spec-owning people? I'm also getting about 360 miles out of a full tank of petrol. I...

Re: Tender - > Megane CC meet 2015
Yes I'm only 10 miles from Manchester so it's a fair old drive for me as well. You never get everybody who showed an interest in coming...... and that applies to everything. Work and family commitments usually get in the way...or apathy/loss of interest. I attended a car club meeting in Yorkshire an...

Re: Steering Rack
Have you considered the CV joints? I have a local garage in Chapel-en-le Frith that I use, they are not the best at completing jobs on time but are fair and friendly. Plus they stand by any quote, might be work getting a second opinion anyway?
