I had a similar issue with mine. When I took the headlight out and looked closely at the indicator housing, I discovered a small hole in one of the prongs which was causing the problem.
Obtained a new from scrappy and not had any issues since.

I replaced mine 2 weeks ago.
Once you unscrew the torx screw you should be able to slide it out with no issues.
Then just out some lithium grease on the tracks and runners with a tooth brush and slide back in

I had a similar problem with 1.9dci a few months back. The problem was with the battery discharging. I put a new battery in and not had a problem since.
