Re: site being ripped off
Hi. I'm a moderator, but not site admin.
I can delete spam, but not ban users.
I have asked site admins to ban users, but got no reply.
I don't have time to find and delete every spam post, so that's why it's in the mess that it is.

Advanced code reader?
I've been using a cheapo code reader, works fine but cannot diagnose ABS or SRS issues.. I've just spotted a more advanced one, on wish (yes, I know).. does anyone have any experience with one of these? It looks like a bargain, but it's still over a ton, which worries me a bit. I have bought stuff f...

Re: Emergency key - central locking?
Nope. The emergency key is purely mechanical.
It has no link to the central locking.
It is only there to get you back in even if the power is off.

Re: Heater blower only works on 4
Replace the resistor pack. About £15 from eBay.
I need to get around to doing this on my CC. I had to replace the one on my hatchback as well.. so it's a common issue.
If there's an extra wire, it's the wrong loom, and that would explain why it doesn't work..

Re: Locked Wheel Nuts
Panic over. The previous owner knew where the key was. Nice one! I notice that the CC doesn't have the under-floor storage that the hatchback has.. (I now have both versions) I'd still like to know if anyone has found a reasonably priced tool for this? I have seen a set of keys for £100+, but that's...

Re: No power to roof
Have you tried using a multimeter to see if there is any power to the switch? If not, then there's the issue.
If there is, then see if there is power out of the switch when pressed? If not, then it's the switch.
Just be systematic.

Locked Wheel Nuts
I have a bit of an issue: I don't have the locking wheel nut key for the alloy wheels on my Megane CC. I have messaged the previous owner, but I'm not holding out much hope on that.. he pretty much gave me all he had related to the car. Kwik Fit have quoted me £54 to get all four of them off, not ba...

Re: My latest project
I have ordered a new temic for the driver's door, and a resistor pack for the blower. I had the battery go flat last week so I have been regularly starting her up and warming the engine.. Tonight, I tried the roof button, and blow me, it worked! All I have done is twiddle with the luggage cover swit...

Cheers. I will give that a look. Just seems odd that it only happens when cold?

Re: My latest project
TBH, I am more concerned with the Airbag/Service light issue and the bad idling from cold.
Is there a temperature sensor stuck in the "hot" position?
I got the dodgy rear light cluster swapped for a £15 eBay one.. smart..

Re: My latest project
New code reader arrived today. £12 from eBay. Worked fine. Confirmed what I thought - camshaft sensor. It was the ONLY error code.. sensor should be less than £20. Had to buy a replacement battery. £20 from local scrappy. New rear light cluster also arrived today. The old one had been "fixed&qu...

My latest project
I have just bought a 2005 Megane CC with issues. 1. The driver's window doesn't work. 2. The roof doesn't work 3. The engine has issues. It cost me £350. Including delivery. The car cuts out until it has warmed up. Can't find my code reader, but I have another on the way. Point 1 above is probably t...
