Ball Joint Size
Hi all. I have a 2004 1.6 convertible. It failed the MOT on the nearside ball joint (excessive play). I thought it would be easier to replace the whole wishbone (makes sense in the long run). Anyhow, looking online using my reg number I see there is an 18mm and a 16mm version available. How do I fin...

Thanks
With mine I just depress the clutch, press the start button, wait a few seconds then you can operate the roof without the engine running.

MOT Looming...
Hi folks.
The MOT on my 1.6 is due shortly, but the car is showing the infamous "roof mechanism fault" message with the associated bleeping. Will the car fail the test with this happening?
Thanks in advance.
Andy.

Re: Rear window won't close 2006 2 litre CC
Hi Geoff. I had this exact same problem with mine. After investigating I discovered that one of the plastic pulley cable holders had failed and the pulley cable had broken free. This resulted in the cable becoming tangled inside the motor mechanism. I found a new mechanism kit on eBay for less than ...

Re: dropped doors
On mine (04 plate) the drivers door drops a little when opening. This fix sounds like just the thing I need.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Engine Problem?
Just changed the pencil coils £48 from eBay seems to be working fine now I'm certain I paid much less than that for mine off eBay (to fit the 1.6 16V). Anyway, glad to hear you got the problem sorted. Does anyone know if it's an MOT fail with the "roof mechanism fault" message popping up ...

Re: Engine Problem?
Thanks for all your help and advice guys (sarcasm).
I traced the problem to an ignition coil, so changed them all and the plugs while in there.
Again, thanks for all your help...

Engine Problem?
Hi guys. The other day I was out for a drive in my 1.6 and all was well. The usual pleasant smooth drive. Until... I stopped off at a friend's house to pick them up. I sat outside for a few minutes with the engine running until they came out. There was a small judder from the engine but I thought no...

Roof Mechanism Fault
Hi guys. The car in question is an 04 Prestige model. Had this message popping up with the accompanying bleeping which is akin to Chinese water torture I'm sure. The bleeping only starts when the car is in motion and not at standstill. Now here are my findings so far. The roof all works fine, but on...

Re: its a bit hard..
Just bought an aftermarket universal knob (please don't), so I'm going to have a go at fitting that today. The one already in the car is pitiful and spoils the look of the interior. The top of the knob has worn smooth and plain through it's years of handling.
Wish me luck!

Parcel Shelf Bolts.
Hi guys.
I have a 2004 Convertible and the two hinge bolts are missing from the parcel shelf, so the shelf gets in the way of the roof going down/going up.
Does anyone have a set for sale?
Thanks.

Nuts and Bolts.
Hi guys. Bought my convertible Megane yesterday and I'm certainly impressed so far. However there's one issue that I know of (I was made aware of this prior to buying the car). There are two bolts that should hold the hinge mechanism on the parcel shelf in place (one at each side). The roof works pe...
