P.s before doing the above procedure, I locked the car with the passenger side key to make sure the lock was in the correct position (I did think that was the problem at first but that didn't remove the message).

For anyone else who has it, I think I found a fix. I had taken my battery off the car to use for a camping trip. When I got back I opened the car using the key in the passenger door, when I put the battery back on I had the message check door locks! Could not figure out how to remove message.... The...
