Cleaning the Throttle Housing

Postby john10001 » Fri Mar 27, 2009 10:27 pm

I've read quite a few posts on here about the Throttle Housing but unfortunately couldn't find one that lets you know where abouts it is located.

I did find one post with a link to a PDF but the link was no longer valid unfortunately and I think it was in another language anyway.

Can anyone tell me where abouts the throttle housing is, what it looks like and what it does exactly? (I have the 1.6) I'm not too clued up on cars and am on my L plates as far as maintenance goes.

If anyone can post a link to a photograph of their engine on the megane ii pointing out exactly which bit it is I'd appreciate it, or even a pdf with details would be brilliant.

A couple of months ago I'm sure I was also in here reading a post on throttle housing and someone mentioned that instead of using Muc Off they got a large container of similar pink coloured cleaning Liquid from B&Q or somewhere like that which was a lot cheaper and pretty much the same stuff. Can anyone tell me what the product was?

Cheers,

John
