C-Pillar Trim

Postby mdainty » Thu Aug 20, 2009 6:14 pm

Hi all,

I've been looking through the forum but can't find the info I am looking for.

I want to fit a shark fin aerial to my motor but so that I can purchase (advise on the best place would be welcomed) I want to check the connections and length of cable I will need etc.

But how do you remove the c-pillar trim so that I can get to the connection? Just had a go, but doesn't seem to want to give will pulling at it from the top. Gave up as I don't really want to bend or break it! :banghead

I've figured out how to pull the roof lining down, but can this bend or crease easy?

I don't want to cause any damage to the trims.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

the majority of the roof is stuck on by velcro!! yes thats right velcro.

i put a shark fin on my car...DONT BOTHER!! they are ccrap!! i onlt get radio 1....and lose it half the time!!
Very annoyed about that.

if you dont then its ok.

as far as the trim, im pretty sure it is clipped on but not defo.

If you buy a half decent one the recepion is fine.

I bought mine from BMW (The one from the 5 series). I use it for both radio and GPS reception, it cost £38 unpainted, but came in black the colour of my car so didnt bother.

I get as good if not better reception than the standard one plus full GPS signal for my double din.

I didnt remove the C pillar just held down the roof trim with a bit of wood while i soldered. Went back on perfectly.
