My first mod, AUX Port fitted!
Hi guys, hope everyone is well
I have owned my Megane Convertible for just over a nearly two months now I decided that I'd like to fit an Aux port for the stereo and brought the part from Ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150623450917&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
This has now been fitted and can now pump the tunes out on my I Pod. Happy days indeed

It does look good... Do you have images or diagrams of where you connected it to the actual radio?

It plugs into where a cd changer would do.

I'm afraid I haven't. But it's all pretty simple to do. You need to remove another plug from the back of the stereo, clip the new plug next to this and they both slot back in together.

Re: My first mod, AUX Port fitted!
Hi looks like a superb fit. I have exactly the same head unit and cd changer on my coupe/cab and have ordered the bits to do this mod. I am struggling to get the head unit out- I have pulled it out with the removal pins and it comes 2/3 way out but no further.... Is it being held in by tight cabling from the cd changer???
I have ordered a couple of keys to remove the cd changer as well just in case.
Did you have to remove the cd changer as well to run your new lead in?
Where did you route your new lead to get it down to the fascia panel; I have pulled my fascia panel off and it seems crammed behind there with some plugs...etc
Sorry for all the questions but would love to be able to achieve a fit as professional looking and in the same position as yours...
Thanks.

Re: My first mod, AUX Port fitted!
I must admit it's a bloody tight fit trying to get the stereo out, the wires into the back are tight. Iirc, I had to get my hand in behind the stereo, with the stereo half twisted out to unplug the wires.
There is no need to remove the CD Autochanger.
Be very careful when positioning the 22mm hole in the panel for the AUX Plug, needs to be dead centre and quite low, if not, the panel won't fit back in because of what is behind it.
Hope this info helps.

Re: My first mod, AUX Port fitted!
Sorry, forgot to mention that I ran the cable up the left hand side of the centre column up to the stereo. Bloody fiddly, but worth the effort in the end. Best of luck

Re: My first mod, AUX Port fitted!
Hi Excellent post, this is what I logged on for as this week my wife will be picking up her Megane CC, can you just clarify one thing for me, with the aux socket connected to the back of the stereo, can you still use the cd multi changer or just the mp3 socket?

Re: My first mod, AUX Port fitted!
The CD Auto Changer is still fully funtional as this is CD 1-6 when you cycle through the source menu. To listen to music on your ipod 'I have a shuffle' I connect this to the AUX Port and sellect AUX on the source menu. Hope this helps.

Can you show me a picture of how you threaded the green connector from the AUX socket UP through the centre console to the back of the radio?
