can anybody tell me if a towbar from a 2005 meg mk11 will fit my 56 plate meg 11

As the facelift changes were only cosmetic I'm fairly sure they would fit.
eg 3/5 door would fit a later 3/5 door
saloon would fit a later saloon
Estate would fit a later estate
