Hi I'm sorry if this has been asked before -
I very proudly bought my first Megane yesterday bought it home and realised the first gear seems really hard to get going - then its fine moving through the gears - -also the biting point is really high ( I have read this is normal though ?)
Have I bought a dud My husband seems to think I need a new clutch/flywheel
Please help - I'm really hoping this is nothing as I'm all spent out
Thanks in advance xx

Re: First gear sluggish and high bite
The bite is fairly high on them, and the car being sluggish pulling off seems to be normal on diesels (at least if my car is anyhting to go off with the super turbo lag) but with a petrol car, I'm not sure. Maybe try pulling off with power going on more gradually rather than hard down right away, as it seems to be a little better then and actually moves, rather than sit and think about it for a bit. You can also see if it happens still when the car has warmed up a bit.
Another thing you could do is try diagnostics with a home kit (make sure it's Renault compatible though before buying) and even find another megane and test drive it to see if it feels similar (it's a bit of extra hasle but could give you the answer you're looking for).
Sorry I can't really be of much help.

They should stay on as the normal lights do until you take the key out, but I don't have auto lights on my car, so I'm not sure.
Also something else with the power, is your car a VVT engine as they need to be revved more (over 3000rpm) to get any power from them.

Re: First gear sluggish and high bite
Mine switch off as soon as I open the driver's door.
That seems to be the only way to switch them off.
