Bcm replacement

Postby Mtb » Mon Jul 24, 2017 6:59 pm

Hi everyone ,

I have bought a new bcm for my 1.5 DCI , I read it can be plugged it , it won't start the car without programing is my understanding , but from a post I read if u plug it in then u should still get things working , interior lights and so forth.

I plugged my new one in to test it and nothing :( any electrical faults I had are still there ....

Anyone have any ideas , I'm losing the will to live with this problem

Hi Melanie,
that's the BCM eliminated, you could put the original one back in.
The faults must be isolated incidents and need addressing one by one.
Can you post what doesn't work and confirm that the car starts ok.
lt would be good if you can give any fault codes stored also. There should be one for the abs for a start.
Also, has anyone tested the brake light switch ?
Bob.

Hi Bob ,

Thank you for taking the time to reply . functions not working are :

Back wiper
Front and rear washer pumps
Heaters
Brake lights
Interior lighting
Speedo
Abs lit in dash
Boot won't open

So far , brake switch replaced , diag done and that's all I was told was there is no power going to the abs, I asked about the brake lights and such and was told they are out because the abs runs them ?? Not what I thought to be honest.

Fuses checked , new under bonnet fuse box put in and new bcm and still no resolve :( :banghead car starts with no issues and runs with no issues

To make a start, can you check if the rear fog light works, you need the head lights on to do it.
Cheers
Bob.
