fuel gauge

I have just topped up on fuel, but my gauge hasn't changed and my estimated miles left before refueling also hasn't changed..... any ideas anyone????
will this rectify itself when i refuel??? I have a megane 1.4 2004 authentique thanks.....

did you leave the engine on while you fuelled up?

yes it is. it will eventually start working as normal once you reach about 1/4 left... at least it did on my car. obviously be aware of how many miles you do so you don't run dry in case it doesn't kick in around then.

mmm interesting, i recently had a good one took car to renault to have the fuel return lines replaced (under warrenty), when they gave the car back the trip computer was all to pot, miles left was just ------, and fuel economy read 99.9, drove it round for a bit then went back, service manager told me to reset the computer (cycle to miles left press and hold trip computer stalk until it resets) a few miles later it had sorted itself out
