key card boot??

just a quick one maybe shouldn`t be in problems but just wanted to know what the boot button on my pad does
ok i am not that thick but why would you only want the boot unlocked? surley unlock is unlock unless i am missing somethimg i can unlock the boot for the missis to bring the shopping in but keep the rest of the car locked so she doe not see the cher and take that cds i have hidden in the footwell
