Hi all, ive got a problem with my car and would appericate any, advice, help and comments. I have a 1.5 dci "sport saloon" which has 99k. I have never had any problems with it until 2 days ago. I had to go to a meeting not far,car drove perfect. Came out of meeting car has not started since, it wont crank. Engine management light is on so battery light. a friend scanned it came up with df 07 df025. I spent all of the night checking wires. fuses, glow plug connecteurs, fuel rail pressure connecteur, disconnected battery, etc. Nothing has changed and im now at a loss. I havea very limited knowledge of engines/electronics. many thanks

Won't turn over? Check Battery or fuses first..

[Thanks for your reply . I've charged the battery and checked all fuses alas no change. I press the start ,nothing happens then the engine management light comes on so does the battery and I think the fan, then I get the message oil level OK.

Hi Nick, another member passing time on Xmas day!
DF007 is rail pressure sensor circuit fault. There are possibly 5 reasons for this but the engine cannot be restarted and warning level 1 appears on the display "injection fault"
DF 025 relates to the glow plug relay which in itself will not prevent starting.
Are these current faults or stored faults?

many thanks for your reply. i made a mistake as the fault code was df 070, but this has since dissapeared, but i still have df 025 = pre post heating fault finding connection frequency too high open circuit to 12v+ Still unable to start/crank the car.

Hi Nick,
Check the high pressure fuel sensor and it's wiring, if the injection computer can't see a signal then the engine will not crank.

Hi steve, thanks for your reply, I checked the wiring and it seems ok, I will order a new sensor. I will post here as soon as I got it fitted, many thanks

Good evening just a quick bit of info. I tried to start my car this evening(ever hopefull) and I noticed that when I pressed the start button with clutch and brake pedals both pushed the climate control display and the display on top of the dash; clock, temp, radio info etc were both not working/unlit. however when i released both pedals, they both came to life/lit up. I dont know if this has anything to do with my ongoing problem.

FIXED.
Good evening. My car is now going again. Seems that I was looking for complicated when in fact it was quite a simple problem to resolve.= starting motor knackered a trip to the local breakers and £25 later my baby was purring. Splashed out on a brand new battery and installed my aux lead, which had arrived the day the car broke down. I drove the car from Bath to Doncaster and back Thurs/Fri last week without even a hint of a problem. I would just like to thank those of you who took the time to to advise and share your knowledge. Hopefully I can do the same one day.
