My son removed the matting from the side of the boot which would reveal the cover ' motor ', We checked the horizontal pin by working it in and out, the cover unlocked, all good but a second check for relocking by ' electrics ' failed so we left it open, all good ,

On my Megane, behind the flap there's just a hole with a metal spring-loaded valve thing.. nowhere to put a locking fuel cap?

(Unlike my Punto, where the entire filler pipe used to fall off inside the wheel arch every time I tried to fill up. Left hand holding the fuel nozzle as normal, right hand up the wheel arch, holding the pipe in place. But it had a locking fuel cap. #pileofcrap )
