The Mégane II Owners' Club

I have just bought a Renault megane tourer 1.9dci 54 plate on 140000 miles . It returns 46 mpg on a run but drops as low as 25 mpg around town does this sound right to you ?
My last car mondeo tdci 2.0 was doing around 44 in town then 66 on a run !!

Not had a 1.9, both of mine are 1.5 dci, 85bhp is good 60 ish, 110 bhp is a nightmare 46 in winter and 53 in summer. Wonder if previous owner has had that engine chipped or maye the pump is just worn out and its overfuelling. Whats the tailgate like ? that amount of diesel in town would expect to be completely black with unburnt diesel, has it had an mot recently ? emissions check should have picked up on that if it was overfueling.

My 1.9DCi convertable with 170,000 ish miles on it averages about 53 mpg in the summer and about 47 mpg in the winter on a mix of A roads and B roads, and that is with my very heavy right foot.

I'm getting about 40mpg on a run, but 25-30 around town. 1.6 vvt.

Only had my Megane for 2 weeks, 1.6 VVT estate, I have been getting 30mpg on 10 miles runs.
