I parked up as normal last night. Nothing unusual.
This morning, pressed the unlock button, and it unlocked. Then locked itself again. The only way to get in was to unlock, then quickly open the door. At which point it tried to lock again. Multiple times..
If I got in and put the card in, all was ok until I took the card out, and it locked me in again.
Press button, quickly open door, and I could get in and out again. It played up at the petrol station again.. and the supermarket..
After locking it up at the supermarket, it started to work properly again. In fact, it hasn't gone wrong since..
WTF was going on?
P.S. it rained last night, is that what caused it?

Re: Weird Locking Behaviour
It might be a damp problem, but then it might be the key misbehaving, I would check the battery in the key first.

Re: Weird Locking Behaviour
Hi there,
sounds like damp or a money spider somewhere.
l've known people to find all their windows down and it's raining, cats and dogs, Jaguar, Ford, not just Renaults.
On mine, the tailgate locks itself again if you don't open a door in 30 secs. l've often wondered if it would still lock if l had put the key card down inside it, locking me out. Haven't tried it, only one card. l figure it would know if a window was open.
Modern motoring and all the electronics, very complicated but all electronics are prone to damp etc let alone faulty connections and dry joints.
Guess nothing is perfect.
Good luck
Bob.

Check the tailgate latch too, rather where the 2 parts come together in the boot. Mine played up one time and there was some debris sat in the dip which was stopping it make a proper close.

Re: Weird Locking Behaviour
Mine only misbehaved for one day, it stopped messing about as soon as I pressed the "lock" button..
