Hi,
I have a megane 2005 1.6 vvt petrol with 105.000 on the clock. It starts fine and the idle is about 600rpm if I throttle it to about 1500 rpm and keep my foot there the rpm will vary up and down by about 700rpm causing me to stall it sometimes. When the vehicle gets to 1/4 temp it is less noticeable, when normal running temp is reached it is 95% ok. There are no untoward noises or rattles from the engine at any time. Could this be the map or tdc sensor? The throttle body has been cleaned.
Thanks
Poor/unstable low throttle control when cold, ok when warm

Hi,
as always, your best bet is to buy a code reader and see what the computer says.
lt's good to clean and check wiring to sensors etc, but your better off with fault codes to put you in the right direction.
l'm a diesel man but :-
l also just found a good video on you tube about the idle air control valve, so have a look on there.
Good luck
Bob.
