Re: megane 1.5 diesel cold starting issues
Hi,
the heater plugs should glow very quickly, are you sure they are all working good and have good contacts.
My 1.9 sometimes waits after start button pressed, but only 2-3 seconds.
lf the engine is a little tired or air in the system, that wouldn't help either.
Let us know how you get on with it.
Good luck
Bob.

Re: megane 1.5 diesel cold starting issues
Like the hair dryer idea know a few farmers that do that
Only a delay of 5 seconds or so for glow plugs yesterday and it was minus 3. Starts up straight away with a bit of smoke. Modern slim plugs don't need the 10-15s that the old Peugeots needed. Faulty glow plugs flag up a fault code usually on these but I would still check they are getting power. Not sure of it's location but there must be a control box with a temperature sensor that could have gone haywire...
