Recently had a new clutch fitted and now upon startup the car idles for around 10-20 seconds and then cuts out, it never did this before the new clutch was fitted,
Could this be down to ECU relearning or just dodgy install?

Hi,
petrol or diesel, there's no ecu learning, although the battery would have been off.
l doubt that it's related to the clutch change, but you could have a word with the fitters, they may have diagnostics and give you a fault code to prove it wasn't their fault.
There should be a fault code for anything electrical, if not, it must be fuel related.

I would have a word with them in case they've left off some sort of connector, maybe to a sensor.

Re: New clutch starting issue
When you first turn the start key or push button on your car your fuel pump runs for a few seconds to prime the system to aid easier starting then it stops pumping but when engine is running the ecu switches the fuel on again (engine running) Your car is only running that few seconds using the small amount of primed fuel. What i'm saying here is your fuel pump is not working with engine running. If you could post up your engine code it would be helpful Could be that wiring got disturbed during clutch job
