Problem with your Megane? Can't find an answer? Workshop manuals and technical notes are in here.

As has been pointed out the "check injection" is displayed to cover a multitude of faults to due with the fuul and exhaust functions. Whatever you do don't go off on a scattergun approach throwing money at maybe's.
I can't believe a Renault garage would give such advise :o (well I can actually) :D

Its just as likely to be a poor electrical connection rather than a component failure. I'm sure an awfull lot of parts are fitted as replacements and the fault is cured inadvertently when the sensor etc lead is refitted.

For what it's worth my 55 106dci estate went backwards and forwards under warranty to sort this type of problem, 2 new turbo pressure sensors were fitted which failed to fix the problem. Eventually we found it to be the same sensor circuit, but quite simply the connection at the ecu, ie no cost to fix.

As an aside the wifes 52 dci clio displayed no faults was just a little slow to start and gave out a bit too much smoke for the 1st 10 secs from cold.
No message was displayed but all 4 glowplugs were open circuit

cyclonebri1,

One can use the weighted-average Bayesian risk theory, just see what we know about this case apriori. In a similar situation I did exactly what I suggested to the new member.

Regarding your examples -- this is how we learn to check obvious things first, isn't it? Thanks for sharing your experience, BTW.

i have spoken to a guy that deals with only diesel engines and explained to him what was going on with mine,he said straight away, one or more of the injectors is faulty causing the engine to cut out and giving the car an eratic tickover with a knocking when the injector fails to work at the right pressure.i went out to my car ,run it at tickover and sure enough eratic tickover(only now and again) and then the knocking noise.only problem is injectors are not cheap!!!!does anyone know where the best place to get them from is???

Try a decent motor factor if you need to keep it cheap.

Just beware that you know which is the defective one, if the 1.9 is like the 1.5, if you remove the injector you have to replace it. I think what I said is correct, although I'm not 100% Caution advised

how can that be right if breakers sell them at 300 a set with a warranty?does anyone else know if this is true or not?

they can be removed + refitted. BUT BEWARE as the fuel system runs at a massive pressure, and opening a fuel pipe whilst under pressure can cause you serious injury if not kill you! you need to be sure that all the fuel pressure as subsided(ideally using diag. equipment)before you commence the work.
whereabouts are you as i know a diesel specialist who says he can overhaul these apparently. (contrary to what many people say,ie that you cannot+must renew)

I do know that a new injector has to be programmed into the ECU with diagnostic equipment..

Just realised who gave me that info, it was the RAC guy that came out to mine when it DCI'd my drive with about 6gall of diesel. :-( :D

Just checked in the Haynes manual for the 1.9, and I know its not the bible, but

"NOTE: Each new injector is supplied with its own unique 16 didit code which specifies its flow charachteristics. This code must be programmed into the engine management ECU with a special diagnostic tool, therefore the work should be entrusted to a Renault dealer"

I have no doubt that breaker parts will work, but the fuelling could be well out either way. :?

Hey
I have the same problem on 2005 1.5dci auto.injection fault when I drive very slow or stand at red light. Usually restarts fine...

the dealer replaced the fuel pump and all the fuel tubes. It worked fine for a few days, then went back on.
