Hi,
I'm having a bit of trouble with the accelerator on my car. It does it only when it's been standing for some time and only for the first quarter mile or so.
The accelerator seems to stick or jump, with smooth acceleration the revs either stutter or, when I de-clutch when changing gear, the revs race at about 3000 rpm.
Once I have driven a short distance it settles down and won't do it again until it has stood for several hours / overnight.
The car is about 15 months old and still under warranty.
I suspect the accelerator pedal sensor, or whatever it is called.
Can anyone help me diagnose?

same problem here... I thought it was the floor mat getting in the way but recently noticed it's not the case.

Yea, when the the electronic accelerator fails, thevrevs go go 3000rpm just to get you home... So, it can be the pedal.

How do, my first post on here hopefully be of some help, when I've messed with the clutch pedal switch in the past it used to do something like this, when pressing the clutch the revs would rise like I had my foot on the accelerator, maybe the switch has been knocked or the wirings worn out, if you look just above the clutch there is a plunger switch, you can't miss it, have a look there and see if it's dislodged from its place, just my 2ps worth
