Automatic Gearbox ECU - Megane 1.5 DCI

Hi,
New to the forum but am after some assistance.

I have a Megane MkIII 1.5 dci TomTom dynamique on a 2010 plate. It is an automatic.

Last week it suddenly lost power accompanied by a series of warning lights. It was towed to a Renault garage where they diagnosed it needs a new gearbox ECU.

This shocked me as the car has only done 56k but I'm not sure if this is the norm?

Suggestions welcomed.
