I own a Renault Megane III Coupe 1.4 TCe 2009/04 and am about to start doing the regular service on my own as I travel a lot and it has become a challenge for me to constantly look for a new trustworthy service dealer in the area.
The manufacturer's manual recommends the following fluids:
* RENAULT BOUTIQUE Glaceol RX Type D Engine coolant -21°C (Color: green)
* ELF EVOLUTION 900 SXR 5W-40
* ELF FRELUB 650 DOT 4 Brake fluid (Color: yellow)
Is it correct to assume that these are the best options for my car if slightly higher price is not the primary concern?
My car's and my own safety comes first.
Did you ever have any good or bad experience with either option (manufacturer's recommended vs other fluids)?

Best to ask your question in the Opie oils forum, I'd PM them at the same time. They're very good with advice, prices are more than fair and you can get a discount for being a member on here, just look at one of their posts as they put the discount code at the bottom

Thanks for the advice. I did not know such website exists. It looks like a website specialising in fluids. They don's seem to offer the "ELF EVOLUTION 900 SXR 5W-40 5L" as product, but it would be interesting to hear their opinion as well.
