Disabling interior alarm

Postby TILTNTURN » Sun Nov 27, 2016 10:41 am

Hi Does anyone know if you can disable the interior ultrasonic alarm ? I generally leave dog in car when going into a shop ? Had heard if you put keycard into reader and press Stop/Start button 3 times that disables it but no idea if that's true and don't really want to try it as theres no mention in the owners manual . Thanks F.

Switch of engine
Remove card and wait for steering to lock.
Once this happens feet off clutch and brake as you don't want to start car.
Press start/stop button 5 times.
Get out and lock car.
Listen for about 4 bleeps coming from driver side boot area they are not that loud.
It bleeps as soon as you lock it this lets you know interior sensors are disabled. If you dont hear the bleeps it hasn't worked and they are still live.
This unfortunately has to be done every time its there so you can lock it with the roof off if you don't do this with the roof down the alarm goes off.

It doesn't disable the alarm just the ultrasonics the alarm itself is still live..
It a one time hit. You cannot disable them full time so you have to do the button presses every time you leave it as it defaults to its normal state of fully live when you open the door and stays that way until you decide to disable it again
It was developed so you can leave the car safely locked with roof off it but still protected by the alarm and immobiliser as said all you are doing is simply switching off the interior sensor's for this stop only.
