So tonight I decided on another impulse buy and purchased a hopefully more damp proof Ford Fiesta.
Not giving up on the cabby just yet but will have to SORN it while I iron out the wrinkles that have been bugging me.
I give up. Bought a fiesta instead!

TBH I am a bit gutted.
Just had it down the motorway and it was smooth as butter. Unfortunately it sounded like I was in a typhoon because of the wind rushing through the leaky windows, roof, boot, doors, etc

A non convertible is always going to be better at insulating as it doesn't flex, doors are better sealed boots have better insulation and geneeally more sure footed on the road cabs just flex too much.
The glass roof is great but zero insulation boils you in summer and freezes you in winter. Boot lid opens both ways so flexs like mad it took me 6 months or so to get use to it all but 7 years later still in it and looking to get another.

"Boot lid opens both ways"
This is true, hadn't thought about that. It is a marvel but I have too many reasons to be rid.
I have a dog who demands regular outings and it feels hard work and expensive going in the cabby.
I only work two miles away so it's only just warming up as I get to work in my bob cap and gloves!
I guess I could have persevered and as you say get used to it but life's too short really
