2005 1.6 Megan's cc - rear exhaust bracket

Postby booktrunk » Mon Mar 06, 2017 9:07 pm

Hi.

My exhaust has started making an awful rattling sound, I believe that the rear exhaust mount has fallen broken and needs replacing.

Help! Where do I buy a new one.

Also how easy is it to fit.

Cheers in advance.

Is it basically one of these, unbolt what's left of the old one, bolt this on, and away I go?

Another question, is it the sort of thing that I can phone ATS and ask them to get a replacement part they would fit it? For a not to ridiculous price.

Ok, so that was easy I phoned ATS said I found the bit for around £15 on ebay, so they said bring it in, they took a peak, said it would be less than £30 to do and it's done :)

No loose / rattling rear exhaust.

Wow less than £30 to undo a couple of bolts! :-(

The rear one is dead simple to do if I remember rightly, two 10mm bolts hold bracket to body and two 10mm bolts hold bracket to exhaust takes approx 15 mins start to end.

Did mine about 2 years ago. Glad I fix it myself other wise over seven years it would have turned out quite an expensive pet :D
