1:5 turbo diesel, turbo

Postby Pegasus » Tue Mar 21, 2017 4:37 am

The turbo on my 1:5. Diesel megane scenic is about to give up, I don't trust a scrap yard turbo, I'd go for a re furbished or a new one.
Where's the best place to buy one from, price wise.

There are somethings you just don't buy from scrappies for me a turbo is high on that list..
The age old adage is pay as much as you can afford but you also have to work out how long you will be in this car.
Turbos r expensive things due to the environment they work in and failure is usually catastrophic. Euro carparts do turbos cheap and mid range as do ces there are also online companies just read reviews on them first I nearly bought one off an online company with horridic reviews so do a review search before you buy. Ebay also lists new turbos well exchange should I say.
I just purchased a peugeot turbo from peugeot £680 the car will be qith us another five years so worth the expense which is why I say "how long will you keep it" it was for an 07 plate 307cc.

Yes that is the question, if you plan to keep the car then new, if not then not sure :hm
