now its been in a while i do not even notice it , only really used the navigation part and the radio and all works great the bluetooth works but will not store your phone book ,but not a problem for me , i like the fact that i could add a wifi dongle to the unit and link my phone up by hotspot and get live traffic data and google search on the navi side

That looks spot on, although pricey it is unique and looks standard so well worth the money

That sounds a bit confusing but I assume you mean they can't be fitted into the wrong sockets? You don't show the rear of the single DIN unit but is it identical to the standard unit and therefore just a case of removing the connectors from the old and plugging them into the new?
freelanderuk wrote:the screen display that's already fitted is move to under the radio which then displays the time ,temp what station your playing (no rds on this display) or what function on the head unit you are using
No RDS?! That's not good and isn't mentioned anywhere in the adverts. Moving the existing screen to low down doesn't look like a factory fit, especially with that ugly surround. I can't believe that the replacement screen can't display radio station information and temperature! Are you absolutely sure about that?

The wiring blocks are all different so will only fit in the corresponding sockets
RDS is on the 7 inch screen. Dempreture is shown on the small screen along with the time and which function you are using is radio TV or dvd

Re: its arrived, display and in dash, plenty of photos
I thought it must have RDS. The problem with updating the ICE in the Megane II is that there is no ideal option. The original fold-away navigation screen, which was only available for LHD markets, looks good but is horribly outdated, in terms of OS, resolution etc. Double DIN models require cutting the plastic trim and are set far too low for safe usage. The replacement screen model you have is probably best overall, as it has the advantage of being positioned in the best location but the relocation of the original screen is an ugly solution and the new screen needs to be foldable, at least down to the size of the original unit and, preferably, also fully flat. That way, it could be out of the way when parked, at the low height for basic information and fully open when more detail is needed.

Hello,
I know its been sometime since anyone posted on this thread but was wondering if you still have this unit and if so how do you get on with it now its been some time, assuming you still have the unit/car.
I am contemplating getting one as well but don't want to be spending more then £300 for something that isn't that great no matter what the sales sheets say
Thanks
Drew
