Re: If you could add one more manufacturer's option...

On the other hand blind reliance on these aids will one day be the cause of a death. We've got blind spot sensors, parking sensors, sensors that warn when you're nodding off, sensors that keep you in your lane, sensors that brake for you when the car ahead does and cars that park themselves. Add all...

Re: One Problem after Another!

The most you'll have to do if you can't just prise out the switch with a screwdriver or dinner knife is take off the tailgate trim panel. From there it is simple to reach inside and press together the clips on the short sides of the switch. The same implement can be used to open up the switch (slowl...

Re: If you could add one more manufacturer's option...

Parking sensors are all very well until you one day drive a car without them, wait for the beep and instead hear a crunch. Not that this has ever happened to me of course. Nope, never.

Re: rear washer

It's the same bottle and, I think, the same motor. It sounds like they fitted a stalk from the sedan. Their mistake - make them put it right!

Re: One Problem after Another!

I'd be surprised if it is the boot catch (actually nothing should surprise me and since you boot isn't working . . . ). Maybe it's something to do with the curtain airbags. The business end for these is above the tailgate window. If you mess with the connectors for the seat (or any other) airbags, m...

The last paragraph was meant to relate to the boot. Sorry. If you look through the topics you will see it answered in more detail within the past few days.

As you said, Renault can turn it on or off. Perhaps it defaults to on when certain things are disconnected and your dealer forgot or decided not to turn it off again.

Re: One Problem after Another!

**edit airbag light has gone out and steering now locked** will keep an eye on it It's to do with the wiring and connectors under the front seats so it might come and go, especially if you move either seat. If you don't hear any sound (ie the switch attempting to operate the latch) it is likely to ...

Re: probably a stupid question!

But when you remap the engine and get straight on the phone to your insurer to let them know  they'll probably hit you for more than if you'd had the more powerful standard engine.

Re: Airbag Warning Light - Steering not locked

It's to do with the wiring below one or other of the front seats. Fiddle around with the wiring and the related connectors that disappear into the carpet under the seats. Ultimately the warning might return as the consensus seems to be that the connectors are poor quality. Often just moving the seat...

Re: Back light+side light bulb out!

Engine fuse box is that the one behind the battery? That if i remember correctly battery has to be removed to get at? That's the one. Hence why I would swap the bulbs to eliminate them as the cause first. Am I the only one to think it's ridiculous having to remove the battery simply to check a fuse...

Re: Roof bars and Roof box

I'm not speaking from experience but surely the 'feet' of any roof bars or rack slot into the fixing points therefore keeping it away from the paintwork. Years back on a Calibra the two points on each side would push down and slide revealing fixing points for the available roof rack. That was in 199...

I might be mistaken but seem to remember reading that the reset button on later cars is on a stalk apart from which the procedure is the same as for your '05 model.

Re: COLLECTING MY MEG TOMOROW!! WOOO

Hmm. I'm not sure about the key card being charged while in the slot. Some cars do this; I had a BMW with this feature. But as far as I know the Renault key card has a regular non-rechargeble watch-type battery. On the alarm blips, I remember on researching some other European cars that many have th...
