Re: 1.9 DCI 120 gone up in smoke...
Why didn't you try to shut down the air supply by pressing Stop 5 times? Because the whole ordeal scared the funking sh1t out of me and I panicked. I also didn't even know that function existed. I apologise for obviously not being as knowledgable or level-headed as you... As for everything/everyone...

1.9 DCI 120 gone up in smoke...
Hi All, Just for a bit of background, I've recently (within the last month) had the head gasket AND turbo replaced on my 04 Meggy. This was due to the engine burning oil. Turned out the head gasket was so gone that there was oil in the coolant system so the heater wasn't working and there was water ...

Re: High oil consumption
Also, when travelling around 70mph there is a loud droning sort of noise, which gets louder the more you press the accelerator. No doubt this will be yet another problem to add to the list...

High oil consumption
Hi All. First off, the problem car is an 04 reg, 1.9 dci (120) with ~97,500 miles on the clock. Now, I had it serviced approx. a month ago and it also went in a couple of days after that for a diagnostic check which chucked up 8(!!) errors, all of which the garage cleared after checking the car over...

Re: Water Pouring In During Car Wash
I've just tried to unblock the drain on the passenger side with a wire coathanger and it doesn't seem to have done much good. It is now draining but not very fast at all. Was tempted to take the bodywork to bits but that would involve removing the windscreen wipers and I don't have time to do that t...

Water Pouring In During Car Wash
Hi All, I took my car to the jet wash last night to give it a thorough clean with the lance/brush, once I was finished I got back in the car to find a great big puddle of soapy water in the drivers footwell  I've had this happen once before when I took the car through a high pressure "to...

Drakes Garage - Shiptonthorpe (East Yorkshire)
Renault franchised dealership - know the guy who owns it and he is a man of high integrity. If you're not happy with their service he does everything he can to make things right for you. Have used the several times for all cars I have owned and work has always been top notch (if a little pricey, it ...

Re: HOW OLD R YOU AND WHAT DO YOU DRIVE
Sorry Nick, I'm younger! I'm 18 and here's my Mégane 2.0 Dynamique and my 3.0 dV6 Vel Satis. Also had a Citroen C5 V6, two Clios, a Mondeo and Peugeot 306. But these two are by far the best. http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/ss186/lukelaguna/PICT1774.jpg How are you only 18 having driven all of th...

Re: Cleaning your Meggy
Yeah, I've found a couple of places in Lincolnshire that do it for £80-150. That's for a full paint restoration.
Still, what shampoo etc do people use for general washing of the car? Would like some ides so I can maintain the car one i have it detailed.

Re: My Megane "Adventure"
She's already well past the 45k mark, more like 75k now  Won't have the dephaser problem as mine's a 1.9 DCI, cambelt was changed during all my problems outlined above. I think i've been lucky regarding the routine stuff, only routine thing that appears to have gone wrong on mine was on of the ...

Cleaning your Meggy
So, what products does everyone use and also what methods? I'm basically looking for advice as I'm wanting to give the Meggy and really good going over and restoring the paint to it's original glory. It's been ruined by those circular scratches you get from getting bits of dirt stuck in sponges etc ...

Re: HOW OLD R YOU AND WHAT DO YOU DRIVE
25 - Firestone Red (I think that's what it's called) 2004 1.9 DCI 120 5 door. Had my share of problems but overall she is a nice car. Pics will follow once the nice weather returns (so sometime in the next decade) and i've given her a good clean. Oh, and once i've got two new rear tyres so I'm not d...

Re: My Modified megane... half way there.....
Did you have to cut it into strips? I never got the joins right on mine so I had 4 vertical lines running all the way down the window, looked turd that's why I eventually took it out and then had all the problems with the adhesive.
