Re: Shudders when pulling off

Well, speaking in terms of costs, a new clutch in South Africa is around 800 pounds if I am not mistaking the currency conversion! This was not done by Renault though, as it would have been worse! Had the engine mountings replaced on about 60,000km, had it checked now again, but all seems fine for n...

Re: My first mod, AUX Port fitted!

It does look good... Do you have images or diagrams of where you connected it to the actual radio?

Re: HELP HANDBRAKE TROUBLE

After 70,000 km, almost 2 years later, the handbrake problem is still a thing of the past... If it ever fails, I will surely let you guys know, but for now, I can recommend the solution for other owners experiencing the same problem I had.

Re: Shudders when pulling off

I have replaced the clutch on 140,000km, and the clutch problems seem to be gone... For now, hopefully

Re: Has Anyone....

As far as I know, vehicles like the Mercedes E-class, BMW 5 series etc are saloons (luxury cars), those above our "sub-compact" vehicles (Renault Megane Sedan, Ford Focus, VW Jetta, and the compact segments like the Ford Icon Sedan, Opel Corsa Sedan, with a "longer" boot (4 door)...

Re: Shudders when pulling off

Just be careful in assuming that the engine mountings are not worn... Renault advised me that it needs to be replaced every 60,000km (in my case about every 2 - 3 years!) And it ain't cheap!!! It costs a lot of money to do! From handbrake trouble, to engine mountings, to brake pad (AND DISC) replace...

Re: HANDBRAKE NOT HOLDING ON THE RATCHET

Thanks Pieter! My handbrake was not "catching" on the ratchet and thus as I pulled on the lever it simply released itself again. Local main dealer quoted me £415 to replace the handbrake lever. 10 minutes on this site, a spring found lying around, and 10 minutes taking the handbrake facia...

Re: Poor Air Conditioning performance?

Funny, I thought my aircon was just poor when I bought mine... (Thought it was because I am in Africa, and the aircons may be build for Europe, no offense, it is hot down here!!!) and each year, my aircon gets better and better, and today, it is as it should be... haha, just the opposite

Re: Shudders when pulling off

I also have this problem in my 2.0 sedan occasionally, since I bought mine (new) and Renault can't pick it up, as it doesn't happen all the time... Some days, the car is great, and other days I just can't get that clutch to stop "shrudding"when pulling away, but my pasengers feel it in the...

Re: HANDBRAKE NOT HOLDING ON THE RATCHET

Thanks for the comment, much appreciated... haha, funny you should metnion it, I'm final year now, and I am really thinking about doing this, as I have done other projects that use powerful motors that is controlled by very little movement (less than 3 degrees) and are very accurate.. And doesn't co...

Re: HANDBRAKE NOT HOLDING ON THE RATCHET

It seems ok to repair the whole handbrake thing, but what do you guys think if one could make the whole handbrake electronic, but it still work with the "throttle" lever? The higher you pull it up, the more tension is applied to the actual cabling of the handbrakes, and when you push it do...

Re: HANDBRAKE NOT HOLDING ON THE RATCHET

Hi guys! There is another thread on this handbrak issue as well, "HANDBRAKE TROUBLE"... I have posted a link there about a possible solution before spending a lot of money replacing that handbrak mechanism (throttle)... I had the same problem on my Megane wrt the handbrake ratchet spring n...

Re: HELP HANDBRAKE TROUBLE

Good day guys, I have just joined this club as a result of suddenly having trouble with my handrbrake release button (Megane II Sedan 2.0) at 01:00 AM in the morning! And no, the engine does not keep the car from going down my runway in 1st or Reverse... So I did some research and came across the Me...
