Dou have to remove the factory one and replace it with the alarm?

The headlight sensor is in with the mirror assembly, the black dot on the dash is a sunlight sensor for climate control air con.

Some cars were fitted with a heat reflecting screen
Basic glass coating blocks the signal
Had same problem with a 03 clio and road angel

Thats right phase 1 had a standard harness regardless of trim level
Then the bean counters became more involved and a different harness was developed per trim / equipment model for the phase 2
