Is yours the Sports Tourer (estate) ?
The estate is heavier than the hatchback so emissions are slightly higher.

Re: brake lights not working. 2004 megane 1.4
Follow the link, page 46, fuse 'H'.
http://ray-lee.co.uk/megane/dialogys/MR364MEGANE8.pdf
Hope that helps.
If it isn't the fuse it could be the switch, page 136 of the link below.

I think this is it.

Re: ghost in the machine...
Good point DanDCI. Don't be tempted by a 'replacement module' as you may well lose auto closure or one click closure. It's much better to send your actual module to be repaired as you get your own module back, with all of its features.

Re: ghost in the machine...
Windows dropping by themselves is the result of a faulty window regulator module. Three of mine went within the warranty period but the last one went after seven and a half years so I sorted it myself. Here's a copy of my post from the time. Then I remembered a post about a man who repairs them, so ...

Re: Replacing D2S HID bulb
Opinion is divided. Half of the members will remove the bumper as it's only half a dozen hex bolts to undo and gives better access. The other half will do it through the access panels in the wheel arch. I always reached through the access panels to change my bulbs and didn't need to remove the wheel...

Re: timing belt 1.5 dci
The consequences of a snapped belt is in £1000's not £100's. Yes they do snap even on low mileage cars. (The week mine was booked in for the job the accessories belt started to fray on the outside). A good independent will already have the locking tool (and even if they didn't they shouldn't charge ...

Re: TomTom Sat Nav
I'm not 100% sure but I think it is to show that there is a connection to the satellites. Moving green arrow probably means searching for a signal. Each quadrant representing one of the 4 satellite a signal is being rec'd from. This week Tom Tom sent me a link to their 'Tom Tom Home' site where ther...

Re: tom tom dynamique and speedo
speed shown seems a lot lower than the speed you are doing I have the Clio Tom Tom so presumably the same system. Although I haven't played with all the settings yet I can confirm that my speedo does seem to record a slightly higher speed than the satnav. The satnav has a speed limit 'road sign' sy...

about 4500 miles left, it then reads 'Service due soon' ! Service is either x miles or y years, whichever comes first. Even if you're nowhere near the mileage you'll get the message once you're within a month or so. without the key card actually being inserted into its slot Only if your car has the...

Re: Can won't start with Clutch down?
Car should start on either brake or clutch pedal being depressed. Most common cause is a break in the wire where the switch is at the top of the clutch pedal. Not difficult or expensive to fix, but worth rectifying because if the switch on the brake pedal were to let you then down you couldn't start...

Re: silver bumper inserts paint code
If you mean the grey colour inserts on Dynamique and Privilege trim levels then it was always called 'Flint' in the brochures. However I don't know if there is an actual paint code for it as Renault viewed those parts as clip on trim and therefore replaceable rather than repairable . However I do kn...
