What will it be used for? Does it need to be switched with the igition?

Mines the same as yours, but I've always thought it should read in the middle like other cars I've had or driven.

What's likely to be the cause of a clunking sound from the rear? I agree to paying no tax outright and adding it onto fuel, don't think it would work with insurance though. I've often wondered why tax isn't done by mileage as it seems only fair. 60 mpg for my 1.5 dci, and with fuel prices slowly dropping it feels even better

Keep an eye on any really short journeys though, they will lower your average dramatically, and are also bad for engine if it doesn't reach normal temperature.
