Re: Broken driver's side parcel shelf fold-out wing thingie

That happened on mine when I first picked it up. Because it hadn't been used much, the wing thingy didn't retract on it's spring ans the roof actuator caught it and snapped it off. I glued it back together and lubricated the pivot that had gone dry. Works a treat now.

Re: renault megane wont start!!!!!!

Also check the main fuse from the battery terminal to the red wires. It usually blows because the jump lead was connected to the wrong side.

Re: Megane III 1.6dci Energy 130

I have a Nissan Note with the same engine. With the ECO button pressed, there is lag after changing up through the gears. I only use the ECO button for a laugh!! On normal setting there is no lag and accelerates smoothly and rapidly. MPG is a steady 59 with mixed driving. My son also has a clio 1.5D...

Haven't tried but I'm almost sure it'll need coded to the car. Have a look on the net, there are people offering repairs.

Re: Loss of/lack of power when pulling off

I had that problem when I bought my Megane and finally tracked it to an incorrectly set-up timing belt. Previously the de-phaser had been replaced by a cowboy who hadn't set it up correctly and damaged the inlet cam in the process. The car drives fine now that everything is set correctly.

Not sure if that's possible as there is no pressure transducer fitted, only a high/low pressure switch.

Re: MPG

My experience is that they aren't very good generally. I have a 1.6cc and on a good day I'll get 38 average if I'm careful.During the winter it was more like 31. My friend has a 1.6 hatch and gets slightly less than me. If you have access to a code reader, look at the live readings on the upstream O...

Re: Rear window going wrong way

I agree with VVC, I had all my modules repaired by the same guy - who is also a meganeCC owner, and now everything works as it should. Just need some decent weather!

Re: Bizarre Stalling Issue

This might not be your answer, but try removing and cleaning the throttle body, then carry out a reset. It helped with mine.

Re: Cigarette Lighter

On my one it was the cigar lighter its self that was faulty. I bought another from eBay (£5) I had to modify the wiring to provide an earth for the illuminating ring though. You would have to test it first to make sure that's what is wrong. Using a test light, hold the earth on the outer ring and to...

Test your emergency key

I know this has been posted before but it is really important to test your emergency key in the passenger and boot locks. I like everyone else put it off. When I did, I found the passenger door not working and freed it off with oil however, the boot lock is solid and at the moment is being soaked in...

Re: Clutch slipping after leaving garage - wrong oil?

Changing the gear oil won't make any difference, the clutch is outside the gearbox, in the bellhousing between the engine and the gearbox. There's no oil in that area, it's dry.
