Re: CHECK DOOR LOCKS
Yeah the handle can be tricky. The bolts holding the door lock on mine wouldn't budge so I drilled them out and replaced with galvanised ones. You don't need to replace every door lock. You could use a diagnostic I guess or simply unplug each lock from its power connector. When you get to the faulty...

Re: CHECK DOOR LOCKS
You need to know which door lock is causing the issue. I doubt it's an MOT fail providing the doors are actually secure. When I bought mine it had this message and it had just gone through an MOT. It was a faulty driver's door lock. It would not lock with the remote with this fault active either. Pe...

Re: Key Card Not Detected - See Image
Not had this issue yet. Maybe the coil is bad, you can buy new ones for like 4 euros on Ebay. If you have a multi meter you could test the resistance. It might give you an idea. Alternatively buy a second hand card and transfer the chip maybe. Or a new one not yet programmed and do the same. Or simp...

Re: Lower control arm ball joint
Yep we got the wheel off. They are not the original control arms, we removed the pinch bolt. The ball joint was fine, hub casting fine and bolt was ok. Whoever fitted the arms we reckon simply pushed the ball joint upto the bolt and not to the top and then insert the bolt. The dangers of a second ha...

Lower control arm ball joint
So while breaking sharply the ball joint on the lower control arm popped out of the hub. Lucky me it wasn't high speed. The joint itself is in one piece and the pinch bolt is still tightened and in place. I'm informed this should be impossible and I can see why since the bolt should be through the l...

Re: Air con compressor
The actual process of regassing is dead simple. Buy a bottle of gas and gauge for it and for the Megane your need a Hi/Low adapter for the port which is about £7 on Ebay. Now how much you decide to put in will depend on your circumstances. On mine it was basically nearly empty so I simply put the wh...

Re: Air con compressor
Without a Clip diagnostic you really wont know what the computer thinks is wrong. It might be the pressure sensor or a constriction in the system preventing it from sensing the correct pressure. I have read a few articles from people saying they have been told that you need to re-activate it. I have...

Re: Air con compressor
I'm in the same boat. I had the car re-gassed last year from an unknown history. It went warm 3 weeks later, no luck with the garage so I left it. Now with some time on my hands I decided to have a go at fixing it. I checked the pressure it was 5 Psi, so I re-gassed it with a bottle of EZ Chill up t...

Re: Water in storage box in drivers footwell
Have you tried UV dye. Ring do a dye for finding these kinds of leak, mix with water and use a UV torch to find where it is coming in. About 6 quid a pot as I recall. Might be worth a go.

Re: Second generation Megane dash console on at ALL times
The door lock connector will be obvious when you look inside Its attached to the end of the door lock. This issue has been explored on here before and other places. https://www.meganeownersclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12037 also https://www.renaultforums.co.uk/threads/03-megane-dash-light-stays-...
