Re: Second generation Megane dash console on at ALL times
The door sensor is integrated into the lock. If it is faulty disconnecting the connector in the door will make your fault go away. You dont need to take the whole door card off just use the lift up bit. I find a plastic bicycle tyre lever useful for removing the trim.

Re: Oil change
Washer for the sump plug. There isn't one for the filter as I recall. Do not over tighten it, I used a filter strap to remove because it was so tight. Dab a bit of oil around the edge to ensure a good seal.

Re: Second generation Megane dash console on at ALL times
So the dash remained illuminated after you locked it using the dash button and the boot light went out after you closed the passenger door and all the doors were locked from the outside? They will open from inside as its not deadlocked by the way. I ask because the driver side door activates the das...

Re: Oil change
I used 5W 30 but only because it was on offer at Halfords, 5W 40 should be fine. 4.8 litres is what the book says for my 1.6 but I used 4 and then monitored it and put it a bit more in a couple of weeks later. Cheapo Halfords filter was good for the job and a square plug tool, although I have seen p...

Re: Second generation Megane dash console on at ALL times
Have you taken the parcel shelf out and locked the car to make sure the boot light goes out? Also have you tried locking the car from the passenger side with all other doors shut using the lock button on the dash by holding it until you get that long central locking clunk sound. About 5 seconds as I...

Re: Engine Misfire
I would imagine a quick call to your local dealer armed with the registration would reveal exactly which injector you need.

Re: Locking Brakes
I would replace the flexible hose next. Being its the next cheapest item. I'm assuming you are happy the piston retracts properly and all the others are working properly.

Re: Where is the outlet for the driver side scuttle drain?
Yeah I had exactly the same issue. The drivers side always blocks solid right at the end and even with a steel drain cleaner it wont budge from above. The wheel arch drain idea I think comes from the Clio which does have wheel arch drains, or so im lead to believe.

Re: Jump Start Earth Point
Health & Safety eh. I put it on the negative terminal, it hasn't blown up yet. However I would imagine any part of the body which is earthed would be sufficient.

I drive the same car it starts with the boot open. Sounds like a Renault electrical fault to me.

Prestone universal can be added to any colour. 7 quid for 4 litres from Tesco. Its pre mixed to 50/50 concentration and can be used as top up or stand alone on a full flush.
