Re: Check door locks message help!!!!

I guess with it's location on the drivers door arm and with the moisture and muck it's feasible that it's susceptible to the switch contacts losing connectivity but by toggling it on and off a few times it cleans the contacts and restores connectivity..just a thought because it's not a switch that i...

Re: Wiper Arm linkage

Hi, given that you posted this in the middle of Winter and we're now starting the Summer season it's assumed that you resolved this succesfully shortly after posting. I don't have the link to hand but I'm pretty sure I bought a replacement spurious set of wiper fixings to resolve this very problem f...

Re: Clutch

Hi, I guess with the passage of time you'll now have resolved this but I have experienced exactly this scenario. My son has a 55 reg 1.5dci which I'd been driving prior to him taking ownership and all was good. I'd subsequently been providing some driving tuition to my daughter in law in the car and...

Re: Chip broken in key card - but what is it?

Hi Colin, did you manage to fathom the circuitry within the key card to the point whereby you're now able to remotely unlock / lock the car doors?. I'll have a look at the Haynes but I doubt whether it'll go into that level of detail. Are you able to upload the link to the site where you sourced you...

Re: ESP/ABS warning

Hi, just reading your earlier post and the subsequent discovery of those codes via the OBD reader. How did you get on with the garage as you were perhaps suspecting that a sensor had been damaged when the suspension work had been carried out?

Re: Mk2 Megan CC 16v VVT

Sorry Peter, I've only just discovered the 'Your Posts' function within the forum, so just running through this and realise that I didn't pick up your last question but glad to read that you sourced a replacement alternator and hope that did the trick. I've never attempted a timing belt change but I...

Re: Intro / Question / Thoughts

Well, we've just moved into June. How are things? Has It been easy enough to recommission Megane and get back on the road? Whilst I guess they're not rare enough or unique enough to give a fellow owner on the road a wave yet, they do seem to be getting fewer in number.

Re: Intro / Question / Thoughts

What a great detailed summary of your ownership over a significant period of time. Really enjoyed reading that because it demonstrates very well the benefits of preventative maintenance versus fix on fail. Don't get me wrong I need to admit that I've always had both feet firmly in the latter camp, p...

It'll be worth checking through the post originally made by forum member 'tunamelt'.

Re: ***Fixed*** Wipers don't work, have checked all the usual stuff.

Superb summary which not only reveals the true fix right at the end like a gripping thriller but unearths the locations of a number of electrical components along the way and explains their function. All good stuff for future diagnostics. Last night was the first ever instance of something adrift wi...

Re: Mk2 Megan CC 16v VVT

Hi, I agree that it seems strange Renault parts are unable / unwilling to provide you with some detail around the correct alternator using your registration number. However I have experienced a reticence / refusal to provide a parts number over the phone before today. Understandably so, because huma...

Re: Rear door mechanism

Hi Bill,
I wish I could help. I have a number of old redundant Renault doors but not the model/year you are quoting I'm afraid.
