Re: Dealer discount

I thought I'd got away from this website - but my wifes cabrio has dragged me back - my local Arnold Clark used to do a loyalty scheme - lets face it AC needs it ! Think it was 5 - 10 % total discount - best thing is to get more quotes as some estimates can be reduced by 20 % by shopping around - no...

Two Dephasers !

Fellow owner, Felt I'd achieved the ambition of never darkening your doors again (this website). Got rid of the 2003/1.6 Hatch in May 2010 - it had the dephaser at 26 k miles/40 months, window regulators/etc. But also had 2006 Cab - which had been faultless (18 k miles) up until last Friday. Routine ...

Re: Split drivers seats

Alex, no - 5 door - the split is through me dropping down onto the seat I suspect - but it should n't really happen.

I just wondered if anyone esle had the same problem - its just behind where the handle is to raise the seat

Split drivers seats

Have just sold a 2003 HB, but also have 2006 CC with same problem. The plastic seat base is split - this has happened on both cars - which was fine for the Hatch back - but the cc we'll keep for a while. On the right hand side of the drivers seat (as you are sat on it) there is the plastic base whic...

Re: Loose Door Mirrors

Dez, Just disposed of a 2003 Megane with folding mirrors (part of the comfort pack) - the mirrors were one of the few things that work for the duration - and I used the folding aspect on a daily basis - yes they always sounded a bit mechanical but they were almost reliable. Occasionally they would s...

Re: Dephaser Pulley

Megs, had 11/03 5 door/1.6 from new. In April 2007 it devloped the dreaded problem and at 26 k miles - 4 months out of warranty. I was surprised that when I phoned round the dealers even the girlies on reception (sorry ladies !) knew exactly what was wrong. Beware as main dealer prices can vary by +...

Re: locks

Oasisman, Had until recently older car with Comfort pack and said keyless entry and exit. Usually some part of this system is n't working. With me it was usually one of the drivers side buttons - the one I mostly use to lock seemed to fail - as though it was worn out, and would then inextricably wou...

Re: Dephaser Pulley - Renaults Response and need help to claim.

Ebby, Had a depahser failure at 40 months/26 k miles on an Nov 2003 car - Renault UK declined to help. Just sold the car and I decline to enter any further purchases of Renault cars.... Depends what you want to do. To get it fixed - dealers are obliged to sell cars of a "merchantable quality&qu...

Re: Fuel and power query

Boys, have just sold a 1.6 after 7 years and 66 k miles. Can confirm its jerky in first (see other threads) and on mixed trip to work get 38 mpg. It is a good M way cruiser if alittle highly geared - 70 - 80 on the M6 is around 4000 rpm - but as the torque falls off you get very little return in mph...

Re: Keyless entry will not work anymore

Taffy, Have held off to see what other contributins are. Have 2003/53 with Comfort Pack - which means I have the keyless bits. The handles / buttons work mostly, although the locking (buttons) are prone to intermittent failure - I used to think that this was wear and tear. At the moment all is fine ...

Re: Megane 11 Front suspension Coil failure

Have just noted nearside coil snapping on thread earlier this week. This is a Nov 03 - 5 - door petrol 64 k miles Spring went with a lound bang on maximum compression on speed bump in works car park. The break occured just 15 cm from top of the coil - so the spring just reseated itself and was Ok to...
