Re: Throttle ?
Hi Jaff64 Did cleaning your EGR valve fix the throttle problem please? If you looked at the other thread I linked to, you will have seen that I've been having the same problem ever since I bought the car which is about 1 year and 30,000 miles now. However, today it got much worse and happened perhap...

Re: Car jolt to right when release throttle
Something is loose, missing or worn in your front suspension mountings. I'd guess at one of the fixings of the lower wishbones to the car body. If it is a worn bit then it will probably keep gradually getting worse, if it is a broken or breaking bit then it could fail suddenly. Either way it will be...

Re: Megane CC 1.6 2008 - "Engine Whine"
Try it with headlamps, fog lamps, rear demist and air conditioning all turned on at once, and then again with them all turned off. Does that make any difference? My guess is that it could be a bearing somewhere related to the engine drive belt. Mine certainly whines slightly when the air conditionin...

Re: Engine cutting out very briefly.
:( So, after this last update, I've been checking every morning for any smoke when I start the engine, or any hesitation in actually starting, but I can't find any. I really don't want to start taking injectors out for testing unless the symptoms get worse first. Also, a colleague at work who knew n...

Re: Engine cutting out very briefly.
The car did it again today, and this was the worse one yet. I was just pulling out onto a roundabout and it suddenly had absolutely no power when I pressed the pedal. It didn't stall, even though it was just at the point where I was letting the clutch up to pull away. But, I had to take my foot comp...

Re: smokey when turbo kicks in 1.9 dci 2005
Is the smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe or from the engine bay? You really shouldn't be able to smell anything that comes out of the exhaust pipe when you are in the car, so have you got an oil leak somewhere from the engine onto a hot bit like the turbo or exhaust manifold? That would burn and ...

Re: 2 x headlamp bulbs replaced in 15 minutes
Yes, I've replaced headlamp and parking lamp bulbs on mine and it really isn't as difficult as some people make it out to be. Turn the steering wheel to full lock towards the side that you are going to change, i.e. full left lock when changing the left bulbs, and there is plenty of room to reach beh...

I'm glad it is fixed, and I would love to know if this has also fixed the problem we were having here with the engine momentarily holding back ?

Re: Engine cutting out very briefly.
Hello again. Yes, the trip abroad was fine thanks. Several hundred miles, mainly on motorways, without the engine missing a beat. The car is normally used for commuting about 100 miles a day on a mix of B roads, A roads and dual carriageway, and it is virtually never in towns or traffic. So, like Tr...

Re: Engine cutting out very briefly.
Well, after almost exactly 2 months of this not happening again at all, it has now done it twice in a couple of days.

Re: 06 megane 2 1.9dci a few problems
Hi Taking your questions 1 & 6 together, I'd say you have a problem. My 1.9DCi will pull away from not much more than idle speed, and averages about 52 mpg. Personally, I would want to find out what is wrong with the current configuration (assuming it is original) rather than trying to change th...

Re: Engine cutting out very briefly.
Hello. Yes, I have exactly the same problem with a 1.9DCi 120bhp, from 2004. I've owned the car for about 4 months (8,000 ish miles), and it has probably only had the problem 6 or 8 times during that period. When it happens, it is rare enough that it is hard to realise straight away and actually tak...
