Hey ladies & gents

Postby Dan__UK_1984 » Sun Sep 04, 2011 5:00 pm

New to this forum, but not new to forums in general. Been an active member on most of the big Range Rover forums for a good few years.

Renault's are completely alien to me, however I find myself looking to buy a Megane II whilst I'm out of the Range Rover for a few years (need to save a few thou per year, and petrol is the easiest way to do that!)

Until a couple of days ago, any old car would have done me, but something about the Megane has really caught hold of me, so now looking at a 1.9DCI 120 Dynamique. I'm specifically after this one as it is the Dynamique trim spec (I dont like the leather, coming from the RR - sorry but the quality just isnt the same) however I did really want Climate Control rather than manual A/C.

I'll be looking at doing the Cruise retrofit if possible, and probably some audio enhancements - again I'm spoilt with the Range Rover!

I look forward to being as active a member as I can - although please dont flame me for the stupid questions I'm bound to ask. I will try and use the SEARCH function first! ;)

EDIT: Right, the dealer with the blue one has turned out to be a time waster, never calls me back, keeps putting the sale off. Obviously doesnt want my money! So found another rather tasty one:

2 door - Only ever me in the car anyway!
1.5 DCi - Possibly going to be disappointed in the performance, but on the other hand the cheaper road tax and extra MPG will be welcomed.
Climate - :D
Heated Seats - :D
Parking Sensors - :D
Fogs - :D
Panoramic Sunroof - :D

Overall, I think a better car, although at 107K rather high mileage, but there are a lot with higher mileage which is re-assuring that they can cope with it!

With the panoramic roof the vehicle tax will be around the £120 mark in case you were thinking it would be £30, it's due to the extra weight because it's a heavy piece of kit and so pushes the emissions up.

What year is it? Do you know if it's the 80 or 86 or the 100 or 106 engine?

Where's that info from?

120 CO2 is indeed £30 however if that info is from the dealer it's not unknown for them to pull a fast one so worth checking elsewhere like Renault UK or DVLA.

That said my Mrs did have a 54 plate Modus Dynamique 1.5 dCi 80 with panoramic roof and that only cost £30 so there is hope :-)

That info was taken from the DVLA's Vehicle Enquiry website.

Ah, yeh they do look quite good. They are in good condition also from my initial cursory glance.

I love detailing cars, so maybe on Sunday I'll set to work on her :D
