Hi from the Netherlands

Postby dr_martijn » Sat Apr 10, 2010 8:14 pm

Evening people, an introduction is in order since this afternoon :)

My name is Martijn Kok, 29 years old, from the Netherlands and in my final year of med school. 10 more months and I'll finally be a doctor. Will specialise in Radiology.

Bought a '03 metallic black Megane II 1.6 16v Privilege Comfort in pretty much showroom condition today. It's a return to Renault after having owned an awesome Renault 5 GT Turbo for years and having to sell that in 2005 on the count of returning to college. The Megane isn't the cannon that the GTT was but damn it's a good, nippy, well build car! It's bone stock except for the alloys (I think) and was always dealer maintained. Looks spotless. I can take delivery next wednesday (new MOT, service, etc). First to change is a double din head unit. Hopefully, after graduation next year, the money will be there to fit a cool bodykit. I really like the Vampire, so we'll see in a year.

Here are the pics from the dealer, will make better ones as soon as I get it home next week :)

Thanx, I'm really stoked.

My girlfriend actually said, out of the blue, that it would look good with black head- and taillights, so a voluntary green light to start a bit of optical tuning. how cool is that :D

Hello dr_martijn and welcome along :tu

Ahhh yes, the old R5T, I had a phase I and wow what a car, handled like it was on rails and went like stink.

Hope that the Meg gives you as much pleasure :-)

Thanx Stranger,

I sincerely loved my 5GTT (280 bhp  but I NEVER felt out of control, amazing handling), and I know the megane is obviously a very different car. I think it'll do my girlfriend and me fine for quite some time. Like I said in the intro, graduating med school in a year and when I feel I need some more power there's always the Megane RS on the horizon ;)
