Pioneer Stereo - Retaining Original Steering Wheel Controls?

Postby daverichmond1 » Mon Apr 23, 2007 2:46 pm

Hi there,

My R26 is being delivered on Thursday and I absolutely CANNOT WAIT!

Was just wondering whether anyone knows what the deal is with fitting aftermarket stereo (Pioneer) and retaining the steering wheel controls?

Can anyone confirm what the standard headunit type is in an R26? Is the original a VDO Tuner List? If so, does anyone know which of the following would work (if any):

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Dave

Hi,

I have a Pioneer DEH-P6900IB in my Sport Saloon. It was originally fitted with an Update List unit.

I bought my adaptor from InCarExpress, but also InCarTech have adaptors to fit the Update List original cars.

The one I have you retain the steering controls but loose the display. InCarTeck adaptors state that you also retain some basic functions on the display, apart from steering controls.
