Remap 1.5 dci 86 bhp

Hi I am new to this forum and I currently drive 57 Renault megane 1.5 dci 86 bhp. I am wondering if there is any cheap way or if anyone could recommend a place to get the megane remapped to 100 bhp or more. I've seen something about a plug n go remap? How do these work and are they available for the meg?

You could try DTUK. Google that and have a look at their website mate You should be looking at an extra 18bhp and 40nm of torque.

Only 14 bhp surely I can get more out of the megane do you know of any plugin chips? Thanks for advice I shall have a look

Its not just the bhp - there are major gains to the torque too. SR Tuning (they will all offer the same improvements) suggest upping the bhp to around 100 and the torque to maybe 250 ft-lbs. You won't get silly improvements unless you are prepared to wreck your engine.

This is the reason I went for the 106 original 1.5 engine. It is now mapped to the same performance as a stock 1.9 (around 130bhp and 300 ft-lbs.)

Been looking at this myself, i have the 1.5dci (106) and have found a plugin form these guys https://www.tdi-tuning.co.uk seem quite good and the gain in bhp for mine as said below means it will match the 1.9dci (130 ) hope this helps...

Oh I do hate those plug in tuning boxes. From memory they interfere with the fuel rail pressure and produce a lot of smoke. That is until you 'turn it up to 11' and get a check engine light/limp home mode.

Note that this is a personal opinion.

300 ft/lb is a massive increase thats 406 newton meters 166n/m up from stock for the 106 at 240
