225 Trophy Rough Idle

I've just put a deposit on a 39k miles 55 plate Megane 225 Trophy. However, when I test drove it it had a v. rough idle. The dealer claimed this was due to it being very low on petrol. Seems unlikely. Should I walk away?

It doesn't sound good.. I'd ask for some warrenty with it, that way you should be fine, or get him to go fill it up!lol
Did you get to give it a good drive or just tootle about?

Thanks Joe. The drive was 5 mins on a country rd, 3 mins on a dual c/way and 10 mins in a traffic jam. the car comes with a 12 month parts and labour warranty

I wouldn't let it put me off too much, only thing is I the prevous owners hammered it then that's cause the rough idle and further problems down the line..
I would push for them to fill it to see if it goes tho..

Bought it. It has developed an intermitent pretty orange flashing light on the dashboard. Must be for Christmas...
