Megane Lights - H1s, H7s, H11s, and 501s
Hi all, I have ordered a set of lights of ebay, (Full frontal set)
it consists of:
H1s(Main Beam), H7s(Full Beam), H11s(Fogs), and 501s(Side Lights) - all bulbs are Xenon EFFECT and are all E-Marked and road legal.
Just £12.59!!
You can either order them with a debit card over the phone on 0208 0905 333 or here is a link to the bulb Kit: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350297086774&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
it is VERY competitively priced, I had similar bulbs from the same seller on my ST500 for the last 18 months of having it, so hoping these are upto the same standard.
I ordered the lights today (4th Nov 2010) - I will post a note when they arrive, so you can see the exact turnaround time, I shall then get a pic of the lights installed on the drivers side, with standard ones on the passenger side, so you can see the difference.
I will then do an honest review on the item, hopefully this deal isn't to good to be true!
Lets wait and see....

Ooh err missus - a full frontal! Seriously, are you the ebay merchant?!
I might get myself a set if I'm in a masochistic frame of mind (bulb access - nothing else)...

I'm still trying to get my head around Xenon lights and refractors etc.
Can these really be road legal if you don't have refractors in your headlights? If so, how come?
Cheers

These have the Xenon Effect, Giving of a white light instead of yellow, it doesnt use ballasts and is not HID, they look the same when on, lighting isnt as good as HIDs but it should be alot better than standard. (So Refractors are not required for these bulbs )
I will get pics soon as they arrive, and let you know how it goes

Cool, nice one. I'm very interested in this.
Make sure you take a picture after doing one side to show a left/right comparison!

Megane Lights Arrived Today :)
Sorry, Lights arrived with Royal mail this morning, they were sent from the channel islands, and thus are Tax exempt, hence the low price
Delivery was very fast, and so far I am very pleased, here are pics, of what was received, its wet and dark outside now, so I will get on with putting them in the car tommorrow, I will do one side and get the pics before doing the other side, so you can see a direct comparisson.
(sorry about pic quality, iphone doesnt have the best camera in the world!)
the Lights themselves, all individually boxed:
As you see below, the bulbs which are difficult to handle without touching the glass, actually have a foam surround, to aid in handling them

That's brilliant, cheers shawty500. I'm liking that foam surround. Very thoughtful!

Re: Megane Lights - H1s, H7s, H11s, and 501s
Fitted, took about 10 minutes
Very pleased.
I got pics before and after (i.e left vs right)
please remember the whole reason for changing my lights was as BOTH my main beams had gone, so comparrisson isnt as visible as it should be....
looks great though! (i still need to fit fogs, that looks like more of a painful job lol)
Standard
Xenon Effect
Fully fitted at night:
Side Lights
Main Beam
Full Beam
Overall rating?
Price: 5* (Price imo cant be beaten)
Packaging: 4* (Technically nothing wrong with it, could of been in solid plastic containers)
First Thoughts: 3* (Better than expected for the price, but nothing outstanding lets see how they look when fitted!)
Appearance when fitted: 5* (Gives the genuine HID Look)
Lighting on the road: 4* (I would give 5* but you have to remember, genuine HIDs with ballasts are better, but these are much better than standard bulbs imo)

Yes I'm def gonna have to get some! Good job shawty500.
How'd these take you 10 mins to fit though?!? Don't bulbs on the Megane take about 2 hours to change??
Did you remove the wheel etc?
Also, how come you got the bulb pack for a Clio and not this one:

I got the Clio set as the bulbs in the megane set only fit 2002-2003 models. The clio set, all bulbs fitted for me.
Changing was simple, Full lock left, took clip out from drivers arch, unscrewed cap, swapped over main beam (H7) replaced cap, put the clip in, full lock right, did main bulb on that side put back together, lifted bonnet on driver side you can unclip the washer bottle, and reach in to change side light and the full beam, the passenger side is a little tighter, squeezing between the battery and air pipe, but it is "do-able"
best to check your owners manual and see if you need the H3 bulb or the H11

You must have hand like a 5 year old :P. I change my side lights recently and they took me an hour each due to poor access. Ended up with some nice grazes on my hands.
