Hi all, first post on this excellent forum. Keep it up. Can anyone help with this?
Checking under the drivers seat of our 1.6 Megane dynamic 2006 I noticed a loose connector which is attached by two thin gauge wires to the main wiring loom under the seat. It doesn’t appear to be anything to do with the pre-tensioners at each end of the seatbelt because the wiring loom already threads through to both pretensioners. There are no airbag/pretenioner warning lights lit on the dash, and the seatbelt warning light on the dash is working as it should be.
Any ideas what this connector is for? Should it be attached it anything? It also appears to have a curled metal strip attached to it – perhaps some form of switch.
Help/advice much appreciated. Thanks.

something to do with the airbag...people who have had the airbag warning light on have fixed it by reconnecting this wire under the seat.

Re: Loose connector under drivers seat
If it's the airbag one the light would be on the dash, as it seems the slightest disturbance of that wire activates the warning light. Could be an accessory wire for something not fitted on yours ie heated seats.

Hi Nige, My airbag light came on and found this loose connector under the driver seat. You say it goes on the rail. Looking round I am still at a loss to see where it goes. Can you please send me picture showing where it goes. Thanks.

Re: Loose connector under drivers seat
It could well be the connection wires for the heated seats.
My Dynamique didn't have heated seats ordered when new, but all the wiring was there (including the stray ones coming up from the floor under the front seats) so I was able to add them after getting old of the heated pads and switches

Hello,
Found the same plug loose under my driver's seat and reconnected it. I had no warning lights. Does anybody know what it is for?
Weird

Re: Loose connector under drivers seat
Hi,
Just found what it is for. It is a seat position sensor for the airbag. It will vary the airbag inflation depending on the drivers seat position.

Page 222 explains it.
